Project Description
PMC served as owner’s representative for the renovation of the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and attached convention center. The building originally opened in 2007, a project led by Ellis Katz of PMC while at Portman & Associates. Renovations are part of the Project Improvement Plan (PIP) and include all public area carpeting, FF&E, retail/café space and a complete soft goods renovation of the guest tower.
Convention center renovations include a 150,000-square-foot exhibition hall expansion, doubling the existing size, an additional ballroom, meeting space and a 28,000-square-foot grand ballroom that serves both the hotel and convention center. The convention center connects directly to the hotel and includes a dedicated vehicle drop off and service areas.
The refresh of the hotel reflects the Renaissance’s rebranding strategy, thus repositioning the hotel in the market.
